Eco Credentials

Looking after today to protect our tomorrow...

We try our best on our day-to-day activities to think of our environment. We have split up our efforts into Quality, Production Cycle, Long-term Impact.

Production Cycle

We minimise the environmental impact throughout the whole production cycle, by being mindful of whom we purchase from right through to the point of sale.

Production :

1. Our toys are made from sustainable resources: wood or card.

2. The materials are responsibly sourced from PEFC approved forests.

3. The design and manufacture of the toys are done on one site, minimising carbon footprint between designer and production.

Purchase :

1. Toys are manufactured close to or within the UK thus minimising carbon footprint in deliveries.

2. Purchasing good quality wooden toys can last decades and can be reused many times.

3. Packaging is made of card.

Point of Sale :-

1. We use an Eco Web Hosting company. It is carbon-positive web hosting service whereby they carefully calculate the carbon emissions of all their business, and ensure that significantly more than this total is absorbed by trees in Ransom Wood Business Park in Nottinghamshire.

2. We visit clients only when it is necessary to show products. Where possible we travel by train to customers.

3. All toys are made of wood or card.

Long Term impact
In house:

1. We use an Eco Web Hosting company. This company plants trees to absorb the carbon emissions their servers produce.

2. Recycling all paper at administration level.

3. Recycling the card we receive from deliveries. We cut up or re-shape the card to use in shipping our toys to customers.

4. Improving our process for invoicing and labelling to customers.

Production level:

1. Factories use materials from PEFC woods. PEFC woods are managed forests to ensure forests grow and have a good balance of new and old trees.

2. The Toy Designer and factory are on one site – this ensures better control of quality and reduces cost of travel to visit factories in other countries.

3. Factories from whom we buy are run in environmentally friendly fashion. They have machines that collect all dust from cut wood and compact them into briskets. The briquettes are sold to local people as firewood.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

Re-use is very important to us. Wooden toys are re-used within one family many times. They are often passed down generations too.

Reduce, we reduce our delivery waste by reshaping what we receive to send out. The card that packages our delivery of stock is cut up and/or reshaped to be sent out with individual deliveries. In these boxes we include a flyer to explain that we are eco-friendly company and recycle as much as we can.

Recycle, we recycle all our paper and card off-cuts that are not essential for accounting, filling and delivery purposes.
